The only thing worse than feeling self-conscious is perhaps feeling self-conscious while under international scrutiny. Which is why we more than feel for reality star and beauty mogul Kim Kardashian, who recently got “called out” for a “bad” skin day by an insensitive publication. Luckily, her fans swiftly came to her defense (and Kim even directly responded to the story herself).

Here was the initial “story” (though we hesitate to call it that), posted on February 5th:

Kim then responded that she’s currently suffering from a psoriasis flare up on her face (She has always been open and honest about her struggle with the condition, which causes itchy, dry patches. She developed it when she was around 30, just like her mom Kris).

At the end of the day, Kim should never have had to address this in the first place—because it never should have been written about. Unsolicited comments about other people’s appearances are not okay, and we should all know better. Kim—don’t let it get you down. You’re beautiful, and we’ve all been there.
