Less than 24 hours after Sex and The City actress Kim Cattrall took to Instagram to ask fans for help finding her missing brother, things took a devastating turn. This morning, Cattrall announced that her missing brother, Christopher Cattrall, is dead.
On February 4th, Kim posted a photo on Instagram with a plea for help — her 55-year-old brother had been missing from his home in Alberta, Canada since Tuesday. Kim’s post garnered a lot of attention, from news coverage to retweets from fans and media outlets all over the world. Even the Canadian police shared a missing person notice on Twitter in an attempt to find Chris. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out in their favor and the story has a heartbreaking ending.
Corporal Chris Warren from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police told CNN that Chris was found dead on his property in Blackfalds, Alberta. Warren did not release the exact cause of his death, but he did say that it was not being considered suspicious at this time.
Kim also announced the news on her social media channels in a devastating post.
Kim has previously used social media as a way to show her love for her family. She posts photos with them, most recently posting an image of her and her father, Dennis, on the anniversary of his death, which was February 2nd.
We still don’t know any of the details surrounding Chris’s death. All we know is what Kim said in her initial post about her brother being missing: She pointed out that he had left his keys, cell phone, and wallet on the table of his home, and that he had left his front door unlocked. Kim said,
Kim and her family have asked for privacy at this time, and we’ll keep an eye out for any more details. We hope they can get through this together.
