Considering she was born to a family of hair and makeup chameleons, it’s no surprise Khloé Kardashian dyed her hair a cotton-candy-pink. Celebrity go-to colorist, Tracey Cunningham, gave the reality star platinum blonde hair less than two weeks ago, but we welcome this kween’s remix on one of 2018’s most popular hair color trends. Khloé’s new hair color comes courtesy of Andrew Fitzsimons, and it’s a bold, fashion-forward move if you ask us.
The Good American founder switched up her hair just in time for the epic Kardashian Khristmas parties. The possibilities for iconic fashion pairings are abundant with her fun new ‘do, which brings to mind Princess Lolly from Candy Land. The bubbly pink color can also add playfulness to an all-white ice queen, Miranda Priestly-esque moment or it could easily dress up a cozy, comfy fireside outfit.
If you want to recreate her look exactly, we got the tea on how Andrew made it happen. Her hairstylist used the L'Oréal Paris Colorista 1-Day Hair Color Spray in Pastel Pink, according to a press release. After styling her hair to perfection or, as he described it, into “model-off-duty waves,” Fitzsimons sprayed the L’Oréal product all over her hair. He left some sections unsprayed (so her hair would have some blonde highlights) and after, he brushed it through to give her that subtle, bubbly pink finish.
In a press statement sent to HelloGiggles, Andrew revealed what inspired the fun color.
If you want something more long-lasting, it’s best to start with a light blonde or platinum blonde canvas, just like Khloé did, and brush on Lime Crime’s Unicorn Hair Tint in Bunny. Shorten the recommended leave-in time to get that subtle pastel shade. With Lime Crime’s semi-permanent formula, you’re free to switch your hair color after a few washes. The Kristin Ess Rose Gold Temporary Tint is another great option if you want a quick, easy-to-use spray application. This tint will give you a gorgeous rose gold finish.
May the hair colorist goddesses be with you. We can’t wait to see what lewks you serve with this bubbly pink ‘do.
