The Kardashian-Jenner clan is no stranger to controversy…sometimes more deserved than others. The latest member of the household to come under scrutiny is Khloé Kardashian, who made what many consider to be an extremely tone-deaf comment to a fan about the price of her Good American jeans.
For context, jeans listed on the Good American website range in price from $99 to $189 (although final sale items are available for as low as $51). For many would-be buyers, that’s a significant amount of money. And one Twitter user recently shared that she’d be working overtime to afford them.
It wasn’t long before Khloé saw the tweet and responded. But her comments missed the mark for many.
Some accused the reality star of being “tone deaf” for calling a fan’s overtime hours “cute.”
Others saw it as yet another instance of the uber-wealthy being out of touch.
With a net worth of about $40 million, Khloé will probably never struggle to afford anything she wants, and given that she was born into privilege, she’s likely never had to work a minimum-wage job in her life. Hopefully, she’ll use this as a learning moment…and maybe as a wake up call in terms of the price of her products relative to the average American’s budget.
