Sometimes, relationships don’t work out. And that’s okay. While her divorce from Ryan Sweeting was finalized back in 2016, The Big Bang Theory‘s Kaley Cuoco has finally opened up about what went wrong, and why she felt like separating was the best choice for them.
Cuoco and Sweeting, a former tennis player, got married not long after they started dating. Reportedly introduced by mutual friends, they were engaged within three months. When asked about the fast pace, Cuoco told Entertainment Tonight that “we grew up with the same people, we just never met. So I kind of feel that I’ve known him my whole life.” Unfortunately, she says his personality took a turn after they tied the knot, and Cuoco found herself not really knowing the person she married.
Cuoco ended up meeting someone new right after her divorce, and while she initially thought she’d never get married again — even saying that Sweeting “ruined that word” for her — she said “yes” to her equestrian love Karl Cook in November 2017.
According to The Huffington Post, Cuoco also once discussed her divorce on The Talk, saying she “knew even deep down, I [knew] this is just not the right thing. The right thing is coming for me, I knew it, I knew it, I knew it.”
This is a solid reminder that we should never be afraid to follow our hearts or our intuition. And also that we often find love at the most unexpected times and in the most unexpected places.
