It seems like only yesterday we learned that Justin Timberlake was (finally) releasing a new studio album. And he’s wasting no time with bringing us some of his singles. Earlier this month, he released the song “Filthy,” and just today he dropped a music video for “Say Something,” which also features artist Chris Stapleton. Timberlake teased the release yesterday through Twitter, which gave his fans a little time to prepare.

Timberlake’s been hard at work these days. Aside from the new album, called Man of the Woods, he’ll also be performing in next month’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. This will be his first Super Bowl performance since he took the stage with Janet Jackson back in 2004, which made headlines for the now-infamous “wardrobe malfunction” at the end of their set. Timberlake has moved past the incident, stating, “It’s just one of those things where you go, like, ‘Yeah, what do you want me to say? We’re not going to do that again!'” when asked about it by Zane Lowe on Beats 1.

On that same note of self-reflection, Timberlake made it pretty clear that Man of the Woods, which is his fifth studio album, is a little more personal than his last releases. Timberlake first revealed information about the album through a woodsy video teaser, saying through a voice-over that the tracks were inspired by his son, his wife, his family, and where he’s from.

It’s safe to state that “Say Something” is unlike any other Timberlake track we’ve heard recently.

The video, which is well over six minutes long, starts with brief opening credits. All in all, it’s beautifully simple, much of it featuring the artist walking around a gorgeous building with a guitar in hand. Later in the video, he meets up with Stapleton — and it becomes apparent that they haven’t been alone after all.

There’s something calming and endearing about Timberlake’s track. We hope, especially due to the timing of its release, that it’s something he’ll incorporate into his Super Bowl set.

The big event will be on Sunday, February 4th. You’ll have some time to become familiar with all of Timberlake’s latest songs before then, as Man of the Woods comes out February 2nd.
