We just found out more on the Debbie Reynolds-Carrie Fisher public memorial service
In the months since Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher passed, we’ve been awaiting information on the their upcoming public memorial service. We already knew that Reynolds and Fisher’s joint public memorial will be on March 25th at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills, and that seats will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.
And we just heard that the service will include a tribute song written by James Blunt (who was a close friend of Fisher’s), which will play over a specially-curated photo montage. The tribute will also include a dance tribute from Reynolds’ dance school, as well as a tribute from The Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles.
It’s been reported that Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd, will be in attendance, but doesn’t plan to speak (which we completely understand — we cannot even begin to imagine what the last few months have been like for her). And of course, Carrie Fisher’s beloved dog, Gary, will also be there.
The event will be live-streamed on Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynold’s website, which will allow people all over the world to share in this special tribute.
We love that these two legendary women are being remembered together, and we’ll definitely be tuning in on the big day.
A separate private ceremony has already been held for close friends and family, and tributes are still pouring in on social media from those whose lives were touched by the pair.
We feel so privileged to have had Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds in our lives for as long as we did, and we can’t wait to honor their lives and legacy.
