Grab your calendars for a few years from now! We officially know when we can expect the third film in the Jurassic World series. Drumroll, please and thank you…

Expect to see Jurassic World 3 in theaters on June 11th, 2021!!!

Of course, fans of the rebooted dino universe won’t have to wait that long to find out what happened after 2015’s Jurassic World closed up shop. The velociraptors, super ripped Chris Pratt, and Bryce Dallas Howard (in far more sensible footwear) return to the big screen in the second movie, director J.A. Bayona’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, this coming June.

Colin Trevorrow co-wrote both Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom with Derek Connolly, but for the third film, Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment are swapping in Pacific Rim Uprising co-writer Emily Carmichael to work with Trevorrow instead of Connolly (and with a woman on the writing team, we’re confident ridiculous high heels and running won’t mix again).

While the Fallen Kingdom storyline follows Owen (Pratt) and Claire (Howard) back to Isla Nublar (because clearly learning from past mistakes isn’t Jurassic Park characters’ strong suit) as they try to save the dinosaurs and people left behind when the ill-advised theme park from the last movie shut down from an active volcano, there aren’t many details out there about No. 3 (or No. 6, depending on how you look at it).

We know Trevorrow and OG director Steven Spielberg will be executive producing the project and not much else. Oh, except that Jeff Goldblum makes his triumphant return as the world’s sexiest Chaos Theory expert Dr. Ian Malcolm in Fallen Kingdom. And yes, we will be utterly heartbroken if he doesn’t show up in JW3 too.
