There is absolutely zero love between Jon Stewart and CNN. Like, zero. Remember last summer when he launched a $10 billion Kickstarter campaign to purchase the news network? Classic. Even with his imminent departure from The Daily Show, Stewart is clearly not letting up on CNN anytime soon.

On last night’s episode, Stewart took CNN to task for its blatant lack of coverage on the protests in Baltimore, opting instead to focus on the schmooze-fest known as the White House Correspondent’s Dinner. Meanwhile, the protests, which started following the suspicious death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray from a spine injury he received while in police custody, hit a fever pitch just 40 miles away from Washington D.C.

Stewart referred to the dinner, as an “annual, ritualized public killing of shame” before handing it over to Daily Show correspondent Jessica Williams to deal the final blow — dressed as a Hunger Games-style journalist and resident of the “Capital.”

“Yes, obviously our hearts go out to Baltimore and all of District 7, so filled with grief at the death of so many tributes,” Williams quipped. “[But] Jon, grief is no excuse for disharmony, is it, especially on such an important weekend . . . black ties matter!”
