No one, or their mother, can stop talking about the star-studded Ocean’s 8 cast, which includes Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter, and Awkwafina. But nobody seems to be mentioning another “integral” part of the film: James Corden.

The comedian makes a lengthy cameo appearance in the hotly anticipated female-fronted picture, and is now apparently struggling to let go of his co-stars. I mean, can you blame him? If you got the chance to work with a band of female power players and finally have to say goodbye, how could you not cry?

In a new sketch for The Late Late Show, Bullock, Blanchett, Hathaway, Paulson, Kaling, and Awkwafina bid farewell to Corden after working with him on set. As they’re wrapping up the Ocean’s 8 press tour, they suddenly notice that Corden had been with them on stage the entire time. “Oh, James, I didn’t know you were here,” Paulson tells him.

When the time comes for the cast to go their separate ways, Corden can’t help but get overly emotional. “That’s it? We’re done?” he asks in utter disbelief. “Press is over, James. On to the next one,” Hathaway says.

“I can’t believe it’s over. I’ll miss you guys so much. We’ll keep in touch though, right?” he asks, as tears well in his eyes. “Friends forever.”

Vitamin C’s classic “Graduation (Friends Forever)” anthem then starts playing in the background as James reminisces about the good times he’s had with the cast. As in the original music video, flashbacks highlighting the cast’s time in “high school” follow, complete with lockers (Corden’s is covered in photos of the cast), backpacks, and paper plane fights. It even shows that one time Cate Blanchett jokingly put red licorice in her mouth to resemble a walrus.

Corden throws a cast party homecoming-style, and hangs a giant “Class of ’08” banner across the room. He distributes varsity jackets and passes along with mini versions of his headshot as a token to remember him by as the cast signs each other’s scripts. He also shows them that he’s gotten “08 4EVA” tattooed on his arm. To be honest, it’s beautiful.

In the end, the cast, with the exception of Corden, goes on to star in numerous hit films and TV shows, leaving him in the parking lot waiting for his Lyft ride. Yeah, seems about right.
