Hold on to your wands, Harry Potter fans, it looks like we might have a new “He Who Must Not Be Named.”

J.K. Rowling, Queen of all things Potter, took to Twitter this morning to blast Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, with this gem of a tweet:

The Twitterverse quickly imploded, with fans leaping to support Rowling in her comparison, although some took issue with it on Voldemort’s behalf, saying, “I think he defies comparisons to any fictional character :o(” Other fans ran straight to their Photoshop to start churning out the day’s best memes.

What Rowling is responding to is Trump’s call to implement, “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.” This ban would include immigrants, business travelers and tourists, but would also extend to Muslim-Americans traveling abroad looking to return.

This controversial stance on Muslim immigration is getting a lot of attention from all sides, including the tweet from Rowling.  The Philadelphia Inquirer likened Trump to the Nazi leader Adolph Hitler with the headline, “America isn’t the Germany that produced Hitler” and South Carolina Representative Lindsey Graham called Trump, “a race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot” on CNN’s New Day.

All of that is some pretty harsh criticism, but you know it’s bad when J.K. Rowling herself says you’re worse than Voldemort.
