Leave it to President Obama to say the exact right thing this Thanksgiving.

“As a country, we’ve just emerged from a noisy, passionate and sometimes divisive campaign season,”  President Obama acknowledged in his weekly address on the White House’s YouTube channel. “After all, elections are often where we emphasize what sets us apart. We face off in a contest of ‘us’ versus ‘them.’ We focus on the candidate we support instead of some of the ideals we share.”

Then the President tied the national holiday into the current political climate.

President Obama took a moment to remind us what it is that makes us American.

In the President’s final Thanksgiving address, he asks the American people to come together to support each other and do our part to make the world a better place.

Thank you for the wise words, President Obama. And thank you for giving us an inspiring message when we need it the most.
