This wife has only seen two Marvel movies and hilariously failed trying to name the Avengers — but honestly, it's perfect
Gabrielle Regan-Waters is a molecular biologist who somehow finds time in her day to grace the world with her Twitter presence. She’s also a big fan of Marvel, while her wife is…not so much. So this hilarious person asked her wife to label everyone in Avengers: Infinity War, and it went surprisingly better than expected. Seriously, you won’t be able to watch Black Panther the same way again.
Regan-Waters’ wife had only seen Captain America and Thor 2: The Dark World before she was asked to label every Avenger there is out there, all like 500 of them.
Regan-Waters then photoshopped the identies her wife gave on a poster of “confirmed characters” in Avengers: Infinity War, and it’s legit a masterpiece. From “Rogue” to “Paul Rudd,” from “Oh, that’s the Hulk!” to “Is this a character? That’s a raccoon,” the answers are absolutely priceless. In fact, this is a discount Avengers movie I’d totally see. Even if “I am Troot” doesn’t quite have the same ring to it. Behold, the best incorrect list of the Avengers for all time…for INFINITY:
Once the tweet went viral, Regan-Waters returned to salute her wife. “This blew up!” she wrote, “My wife, the visionary, is @LGBTOwlMom78. I’m just the messenger!” For her part, Brenda — she only uses her first name on Twitter — quote-tweeted the photoshopped poster, and joked “So many people are making fun of me” with the cry-laugh emoji.
Uh, cutest couple much? For real, though, Brenda’s answers are so delightful because they’re such an odd mix. There are the accurate ones, like Iron Man, and the confusing ones, like Dr. Watson. Actor Martin Freeman, who played Watson in the BBC’s adaptation of Sherlock, is actually part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe — but not as an Avenger, and especially not as Hawkeye, whom Brenda had labeled as such. Agent Maria Hill, who is played by actress Cobie Smulders, just gets the label “Robin” — aka the role she was famous for on How I Met Your Mother.
Overall, the whole list is a gem. Brenda, please write the next Avengers movie.
