There’s nothing like some good old snail mail, especially when it comes courtesy of an awesome young human looking to make the world a better place. Twelve-year-old Olivia from Brooklyn, New York, wrote a letter to Hillary Clinton that has since gone viral after being posted on the president-hopeful’s website. The letter talks about a lot of things, but specifically the need for a female president on the road to equality.

There is so much right with this letter from a self-proclaimed “little feminist,” it’s astonishing. From her request for more educational options for students with unique learning needs, to her support of marriage equality, it’s clear Olivia understands the importance of equal rights and the need for activism in the fight for those rights.

Obviously, the Clinton campaign loved her letter. (“I bet I would be the youngest member of your campaign,” writes Olivia.) Hillary responded by posting the letter on her campaign website, along with this note:

Thank you for writing to me; it put a smile on my face. … Please know that I join your dads in cheering you on for great success. Keep up the great work, always care deeply about what you believe in, and never stop reaching for the stars!

This letter is proof that it doesn’t matter how old you are, you have a voice—and that voice counts. We’re inspired by Olivia’s decision to make her voice heard and we won’t be surprised if she winds up running for office herself one day.
