It isn’t exactly custom for an audience to burst into applause before a Broadway musical’s lights even come up, but then it isn’t exactly custom to have a former president and president elect as part of the crowd. Hillary Clinton received a sea of cheers and chants as she took her seat next to husband Bill at Broadway’s new foray into the acapella musical, In Transit. The democratic nom has been lying low (can you blame her?) since November, popping out for occasional musical and hike throughout New York. The Clinton’s received a similarly warm welcome when they caught the final performance of The Color Purple earlier this year, proving for the millionth time that New York City is loud and proud. Get used to it!

Hillary Clinton escaped reality for a sec by catching the super high-energy musical In Transit. Same, girl. We get it.

Just watch what happened when the audience realized she was among them.

This outing comes on the heels of news that Clinton will be releasing a book of personal essays this September, each inspired by a favorite quote from throughout history and literature. The former Secretary of State is also set to speak at an International Women’s Day event next month, as well as appear at an LGBT gala in New York this April. We’re hoping that this means more sightings of Hillary in the near future, especially since it’s been rumored that she’ll be delivering the commencement at her alma mater, Wellesley College (write on calendar: Youtube Wellesley speech in May! You know that’s gonna be some inspirational wisdom for the ages).

But for now, we wish Hillary many more low key evenings at the theater and dog-accompanied walks in the woods. In the meantime, we’ll start booking tix to all the performances she hasn’t seen yet in hopes to score a seat next to America’s favorite grandma. What? Too much?
