While Father’s Day allows us to celebrate the importance of father figures in our lives, the day is not without sadness for so many—including for those who have lost someone due to systematic oppression and racism. Halle Berry is paying tribute to those lives lost by sharing with her followers a T-shirt designed in honor of George Floyd, whose murder in Minneapolis on May 25th helped inspire the protests against racism and police brutality around the world in the weeks since.

The actress began the day by sharing a quote on Instagram from Floyd’s 6-year-old daughter, Gianna, at a recent protest: “My daddy changed the world.” In her caption, Berry paid tribute “to those without fathers today,” adding, “we love you and are with you.♥️ #HappyFathersDay.”

She then shared a second post, in which she can be seen wearing a muscle tee that reads “FLOYD” across the chest, along with a photo of George and Gianna together. In her caption, she talked a bit more about the heaviness of the day.

“This #FathersDay, my heart hurts for all the families who have lost their fathers, sons, brothers, uncles and husbands – loved ones who have been senselessly ripped from them due to systematic oppression,” Berry wrote. “All gone too soon, but not forgotten. “

She shared that if her followers “have the time and the means,” they can purchase a T-shirt like hers—designed by California-based martial arts brand Hyperflyfor a good cause.

You can buy a $50 Floyd T-shirt and all proceeds will go directly to the Gianna Floyd Fund, a fund set up for Gianna in the wake of her father’s murder last month.

Hyperfly’s George Floyd tee also honors other “Black men and boys who have been shot and killed by police under suspicious circumstances” in the United States, which the brand says “can serve as a tragic reminder of the dangers Black and brown citizens face upon being born into a world of hate that has branded them as suspects since birth.”

Berry ended her post by calling Gianna “a girl whose father should without a doubt still be alive today.” She added, “I pray that we all find ways to heal. ⁣Happy Father’s Day.”
