Since hearing the tragic news about Alan Thicke’s passing on Tuesday, our hearts have been feeling heavy. The actor has been a television staple for decades, and many of us grew up feeling like he was a surrogate father-figure. And we’re not alone.

Thicke’s Growing Pains costar and TV daughter, Tracey Gold, reacted to his death, and our we’re sending so much love her way right now.

In the same EW statement, she also talked about what a great father Thicke was to his sons, and how happy she was to have been a part of his TV-family. “I am so honored to have been his daughter for seven beautiful years. I love you Alan and will miss you forever,” she wrote.

Oh, and who could forget that another one of Thicke’s costars on Growing Pains was a very young Leonardo Dicaprio? Working with Thicke early on had an impact on the impressionable actor, and he wrote an emotional message via Facebook.

We’re sending endless love to Thicke’s friends and family during this difficult time. It’s always traumatic to lose a parent, colleague, friend, or just anybody close to you, and we hurt for anyone who’s hurting right now. We miss you terribly, Alan.
