This new GoT theory about Bran being secretly evil makes a lot of sense—and we're scared
Warning! GoT Season 8, episode 3 spoilers ahead.
It’s a relief to know that the Battle of Winterfell is over and done with, and that the humans came out on top. But the April 28th Game of Thrones episode still left us with a lot of questions. How did Arya manage to make it through that wall of White Walkers to kill the Night King? Why didn’t we see a horrible half-dead family reunion when the Night King raised the dead in the Winterfell crypts? And where the hell did Bran warg to when we all really could have used his ageless wisdom during the siege?
We’re not getting many answers yet. However, fans are positing a scary theory to answer that last question.
As in: Bran may be evil.
In a Reddit post from user ColdBeing titled “Something just doesn’t feel right,” ColdBeing expressed suspicion about the Night King’s demise. “They hyped up The Night King for seasons upon seasons, years upon years and this is how he goes out? There’s just no way,” the fan wrote. They also questioned why Bran warged for so long. “Could he have been making a deal with The Night King?” Then, there’s THIS tweet:
The theory also notes how strange it is that Bran asked Theon Greyjoy to protect him during the episode, even though everyone knows Theon isn’t the most reliable warrior. Basically—as much as we freaking love that Arya Stark took down the biggest baddie of them all, something isn’t quite adding up…and we wouldn’t put it past this show to do something shocking and extreme.
Could this theory explain everything, including why Bran has been so damn stoic this whole season? We’re just going to have to wait and find out.
