The 2020 Golden Globes after-party fashion was just as good as (if not better than) the red carpet
The Golden Globes red carpet is home to some of the most stunning celebrity looks of awards season, and we eagerly await stars strutting toward the entrance of the Beverly Hilton Hotel every year. Feather accents, power pantsuits, and disco-level sparkly dresses are just some of the trends we spotted on the 2020 Golden Globes red carpet. However, another place was just as fashion-filled last night, January 5th: the Golden Globes after-party.
When the clock struck 11 p.m. EST and Ricky Gervais gave his lackluster farewell, stars slipped out of their elegant gowns and into shorter and flirtier numbers.
Dressed in their dance-ready get-ups, celebs flooded numerous Golden Globes after-party locations to celebrate the big night with champagne toasts, envy-inspiring reunions, and killer fashion moments. From Ashley Benson’s bedazzled shawl to Hailey Baldwin’s tuxedo mini, see our favorite looks from the real party of last night—the after-party.
Who knew shawls could be so glamorous? Ashley Benson went for a bedazzled look at the Golden Globes after-party this year with a layered silver and baby-pink jeweled shawl, giving us a subtle dash of skin, and a form-fitting silver skirt. Add her blush makeup, and Benson was a full-on stunner.
The bigger the bow, the better, in our opinion. Yara looked like a ray of sunshine in this Carolina Herrera dress and Christian Louboutin heels.
Hailey means business when she shows up to the function. Her looks are always top-notch, and this slinky tuxedo minidress wrapped with a leather belt was no exception.
We’re obsessed with Jessica Alba’s Golden Globes after-party look. Layered shimmery fabric gave us modern flapper girl vibes, and we’re here for it.
Brittany Snow hopped on the nearly-naked dress trend for her look. An off-the-shoulder sheer and shimmery gown turned heads, as did her sleek power pony that exploded into volume at her neck.
Turns out the feathery trend wasn’t just on the red carpet this year—it spread to the after-party, too. Scarlett Johansson opted for a baby pink, flirty, and feathery number that we’re guessing spent some time on the dance floor.
When Kate Bosworth shows up to an event, she shows up. The actress was a showstopper in this backless, hot pink gown. Add in the high-twist braid, and we’re mesmerized.
Bring on the sequins! Maude Apatow brought the party to the Golden Globes post-show event with this ultra-glittery silver and purple gown.
9Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams
One of our favorite celeb couples looked oh-so-sweet at the Golden Globes after-party. Modern Family star Sarah Hyland and financé Wells Adams radiated love in a baby pink sweetheart gown and soft gray tux.
Fellow Modern Family star Ariel Winter rocked a neon yellow gown and matching sequin clutch. We’re suckers for the one-sleeved look (and, of course, a thigh-high slit), so, in our opinion, Winter knocked it out of the park.
Kate Beckinsale served major ’70s glam at the Golden Globes after-party. Giant flare sleeves, giant hair, giant jeweled belt, it’s all too much—in the absolute best way.
Actress Jamie King also opted for a shawled look this year—her intricate gown paired with a sheer shawl and sleek bob was the ultimate trifecta.
We’re inspired to dress up and go all out. These after-party 2020 Golden Globes looks will each go down in fashion history.
