This fitness trainer refuses to shame herself because she isn't "bouncing back" after giving birth
Giving birth is a different experience for every woman, but this fitness trainer is speaking candidly about how hard “bouncing back” after birth has been for her. Emily Skye posted a picture of herself on Instagram with her newborn daughter, delving into the truth about postpartum life.
The 32-year-old fitness trainer has been open with her followers about her pregnancy and the unexpected turns it has taken. Between the constant morning sickness and back pain, Skye didn’t force herself to work out the way she wanted to during her pregnancy. All throughout, the new mom encouraged other pregnant women to listen to their bodies and to do what feels right when deciding to work out, spreading a positive message of reality.
Skye added that her experience is far from being that of a “glam mum,” as she is experiencing pain from breastfeeding along with the stitches from her episiotomy (a cut made at the opening of the vagina to aid with childbirth). “I had no idea it would be this bad!” the mom explained, getting real about the concept of “bouncing back.”
No matter how fit you might be, pregnancy can take a toll on your body. Duh — a human being is growing inside you! It’s hard to find the motivation and wherewithal to stay in shape, and Skye wants you to know that there’s no shame in that.
