On the one-year anniversary of last year’s history-making Women’s March, women all over the country are once more taking to the streets as part of the 2018 Women’s March. They’re prepping their punny protest signs, taking inspirational feminist quotes to heart, and… googling if there’s a march in their area? Yep.

Though 2017’s official march took place in Washington, D.C., protestors who wanted to make their voices heard participated in sister marches held around the world. Women came together for 673 different demonstrations in various U.S. cities and countries all over the globe — even Antarctica held its own mini-march, complete with penguin protest signs.

This year, the official Women’s March will be held in Las Vegas on January 21st, 2018. And it’s just the beginning of the #PowerToThePolls campaign. Organizers are striving to empower and enable women to vote in the 2018 midterm elections and, per their website, “launch a national voter registration tour… [to] channel the energy and activism of the Women’s March into tangible strategies and concrete wins in 2018.”

Why Vegas? Nevada is a swing state. The “national voter registration tour will target swing states to register new voters [and] engage impacted communities” according to the website. Organizers plan to “harness our collective energy to advocate for policies and candidates that reflect our values [and] collaborate with our partners to elect more women and progressives candidates to office.” Sounds good to us!
