Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are total friendship goals. In a new Q&A at the Telluride Film Festival, Stone talked about her “dear wonderful friend” and revealed exactly why he’s “so special” to her.

“I can’t even imagine what my life would be without Ryan,” Stone said at the Colorado-based festival on Saturday, September 1st. “He’s so special. It makes me emotional. He’s so talented but he’s such a great person to work with because he’s so collaborative and excited about the process. He’s taught me a lot about being really generous.”

Stone—who was honored at the film festival for her amazing work up to this point—has worked with Gosling in three movies (so far): 2011’s Crazy, Stupid Love, 2013’s Gangster Squad, and 2016’s La La Land. In the same interview, she said the pair instantly had an unspoken connection from the moment she walked into the Crazy Stupid Love audition.

This isn’t the first time she’s talked about her love for her three-time costar. In a 2017 interview with Variety, Stone said Gosling is not only “so much fun” and “easy to work with,” but he’s also “the best guy in the world.”

Unfortunately, Gosling was unable to attend the film festival this weekend, but Stone received a silver medal from her La La Land director, Damien Chazelle, after a 25-minute video showcasing her 11-year career was shown.

It’s always great to know that costars genuinely enjoy working together. Stone and Gosling are one of the best onscreen duos out there today. Now, let’s hope we get another collab sometime soon…
