While there are many awareness days throughout the year, March 22nd is an essential one because it is United Nations World Water Day. To show their support, celebrities are making the “w” symbol with their hands to raise awareness about the global water crisis and once you know more about it, you may just want to join them.

According to the World Water Day website:

Because of these devastating statistics, the organization drop4drop created the campaign #W4Water, which encourages people to take and share a photo of themselves holding their hands in a “w” (not like the “Whatever” symbol that was so popular in the ’90s) to show that they support clean water for all.

And celebrities jumped on the cause by sharing their own “w” photos.

The outpouring of support is incredible as shown by the caliber of celebs who have participated so far. Here are just a few:

Emma Stone

James Corden

Rita Ora

Cara Delevingne

Sean Diddy Combs

Jimmy Fallon

Naomi Campbell

Ed Sheeran

This campaign has been around before 2017, but if you have access to clean water, it’s important to remember each and every day that so many people in the world do not.

If you’re interested in donating to the clean water cause, visit drop4drop for more information and help to put an end to the global water crisis.
