David Harbour says he thinks Millie Bobby Brown will grow up in a "better Hollywood"
While they’re close on-screen, they’ve clearly got a strong connection off-screen as well. Last night at the 2018 SAG Awards, David Harbour discussed his Stranger Things co-star Millie Bobby Brown and noted that he thinks she’ll see a “better Hollywood” than the young women who have come before her. He’s confident that things are getting better, especially with the recent #MeToo and Time’s Up movements.
Harbour was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series, and while he lost the award to Sterling K. Brown, he still managed to have what looked like an awesome night with his Stranger Things cast and crew. Harbour, who plays the standout role of Jim Hopper on the Netflix series, has had the opportunity to spend a lot of quality time with Brown — especially in the second season.
We sincerely hope Harbour is right on this one — for Millie Bobby Brown, and for girls and women everywhere. Representation is key when it comes to important story-telling, and it certainly feels like the tide is changing.
We can’t wait for Season 3 of Stranger Things, as well as for all the things Brown — and all the young women in Hollywood — will surely do next. Oh, and did we mention that we’re in love with David Harbour? NBD.
