In real-life is 100% stranger than fiction news, a teen girl recently took a life-sized cardboard cut out to her senior prom (lol), and Danny Devito totally responded.

For some context, Pennsylvania High senior Allison Closs—who, fyi, is clearly the coolest high schooler we’ve ever heard of—opted to go the, uh, unconventional route and procured a large cardboard cutout of the It’s Always Sunny actor. She then proceeded to take “him” as her prom date.

Why, you might ask? If you don’t know, you never will. Just LOOK at these amazing photos:

And while that amazing absurdity is enough in and of itself to make us smile, it gets even better. 73-year-old Devito heard about Allison’s hijinks, and printed out a life-sized cardboard cut out of her to walk around with. Yep. He brought it to the It’s Always Sunny set, where Rob McElhenney (aka, Mac) posted about it.

Allison was (understandably) stoked.

She concluded her Twitter amazement with, “I’m so glad that this is going to be my high school legacy…” LOL.

We don’t know what we love more—the fact that Allison brought Danny Devito to prom, or the fact that he responded in kind. But we do know we’re obsessed with this story and it is giving us life.

Now excuse us while he share this story with every single person we know. Because the world deserves to see this.
