We’re not above admitting that we’re low-key obsessed with Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart’s IRL romance. Whether they’re posting romantic messages to one another on Instagram or showing red carpet PDA, it’s clear that they have a solid bond. And in a new profile in the Los Angeles Times, Sprouse shared how magnetic their attraction was when they first met. The 26-year-old actor discussed his work on Riverdale, where he plays Jughead Jones opposite Reinhart’s Betty Cooper. And although it can be awkward to date your coworker, Sprouse told the Times that he and Reinhart liked each other too much to not give it a try.
However, Sprouse acknowledged that he’s wary of sharing too much about their relationship with the public, noting that he tries not to post too many pictures of Reinhart online, even though he often uses her as a model for his photography.
Sprouse also delved into the unexpected route that led him to Riverdale (and Reinhart) in the first place. After taking four years off from acting to attend college, Sprouse said he told his agent he’d agree to one more round of pilot season auditions, and if he didn’t get anything, he’d quit the industry. And the rest is, as they say, history…
Apart from his work with Reinhart on Riverdale, Sprouse is gearing up for the premiere of his new movie, Five Feet Apart. The romance stars Sprouse and Haley Lu Richardson as two teens who meet while undergoing treatment for cystic fibrosis. It premieres on March 22nd, and it already promises to be a tearjerker. Sprouse recently wrote on Instagram that it even made his dad and his brother, Dylan, “cry in a room full of young women and business professionals.”
We’re glad that Sprouse and Reinhart manage to make it work despite all the pressure. We can’t wait to see where Riverdale takes them, and we extra can’t wait to catch Five Feet Apart in theaters.
