Cody Simpson released a new song called “Golden Thing” on Friday, October 18th—and it’s without a doubt a tribute to his new girlfriend, Miley Cyrus. Even though the two have only been together for roughly two weeks, the romantic lyrics pretty obviously show us that his feelings toward the “Slide Away” singer are the real deal.

The Australian musician told People that he wrote “Golden Thing” for Cyrus while she was in the hospital for tonsillitis last week. At the time, Cyrus posted a video of Simpson serenading her in bed.

“Suddenly I am feeling much better,” she captioned the now-expired Instagram Story. “This sweeeeeet guy came to visit at the hospital and sang the sweeeeeetest song he just wrote for me.”

Cyrus reportedly loved the song so much that she encouraged him to release it to the public.

Her persuasion worked because Simpson later shared the track’s artwork on social media—a photo of Cyrus’s beachy, “golden” locks—further proving the song was definitely inspired by the 26-year-old pop star.

Let’s break down these “Golden Thing” lyrics.

“Crystal dream / Cali queen,” he croons on the nearly four-minute acoustic track. “Radiant hand / vibrant sand / I’m shot / It’s a golden thing she’s got.”

Elsewhere, Simpson even seems to hint that he never expected their friendship to turn romantic. “She let me in,” he sings. “I’m shot.”

Read the full lyrics to the romantic song below:

[Intro]
No, ooh woah

[Verse 1]
Crystal dream
Cali queen
Radiant hand
Vibrant sand

[Chorus]
I’m shot
It’s a golden thing she’s got

[Verse 2]
A thousand thrills
A thousand chills
Smokey eye
Pearly white

[Chorus]
I’m hot
It’s a golden thing she’s got

[Bridge 1]
I sing softly to her
In the last daylight
And the chorus of birds
In the heights of night
And if we could be heard
For whatever it’s worth
The rulers in the sky
They’d cry

[Verse 3]
Diamond throne
All on her own
Coffee skin
She let me in

[Chorus]
I’m shot
It’s a golden thing she’s got
It’s a golden thing and I

[Bridge 2]
Shouted the words
In the first daylight
And the chorus of birds
Burst on into sight
Now I know that I’m heard
For whatever it’s worth
By the rulers in the sky

[Verse 4]
Deep blue jeans
Movie screens
Taking flight
Flashing lights

[Chorus]
I’m shot
It’s a golden thing we’ve got

Simpson hasn’t released an album since 2015’s Free, but maybe Miley Cyrus is his new muse.
