All the Cinco de Mayo specials and deals to look out for this year — because margs aren't cheap
Cinco de Mayo is a great excuse to drink too many margaritas, learn about Mexican history, and maybe attend a party or two. The Mexican holiday is super popular in many parts of the United States, with festivals and events happening all over the country. If you don’t have anything planned, aka you’re not planning on throwing or going to a party, you can still take part in the celebrations by heading out to find a restaurant that offers some great Cinco de Mayo specials and deals — and there are many.
If you want to celebrate Mexico’s victory at the Battle of Puebla with margaritas and tacos (even though the traditional dish in Puebla is mole poblano), there are a number of Cinco de Mayo deals and specials out there to help ease the burden on your wallet.
And because internet research can be annoying, we’ve compiled some of the best deals and specials right here for your convenience. Enjoy!
If you want a lot of margaritas but don’t want to spend a lot of money, then Applebee’s is the place to be on Cinco de Mayo. The restaurant will be expanding its DOLLARITA special through May 5th for Cinco de Mayo. This is their famous $1 margarita, and you can’t go wrong with the price. Plus, new May Neighborhood Drink is 2 DOLLAR DOS, which is $2 Dos Equis, which lasts throughout the month of May.
If you’re close to a Bahama Breeze, they have a good deal on margaritas as well. From April 29th through May 5th, you can get $5 margaritas. Keep in mind this offer isn’t valid in Ohio or Virginia after 9 p.m. local time.
Dos Caminos starts celebrating Cinco de Mayo on May 4th with live performances and a giveaway. On May 5th and 6th, brunch specials will be served throughout the day. For $18 extra, you can get two hours of frozen margaritas, Bloody Marys, mimosas, screwdrivers, or sparkling wine with your entree.
Chuy’s is offering three days of festivities, beginning Friday, May 4th through Sunday, May 6th. You can check out your local Chuy’s Facebook page for details on drink specials, which include $1 Coronas 4 p.m. – close on May 4th, and $1 floaters on May 4th and 5th. There’s also the chance to win dinner for two if you use the #ChuysCinco hashtag on Instagram.
5Margaritas Mexican Restaurant
This place is taking things a step further by celebrating five days of “Cinco de Mayan.” You can visit your local Margaritas page for details (which may vary) and even have a chance to win a trip to the Mayan Riviera. Some of the deals on social media include: buy one Taco Gigante and get one for $5 on Tuesday, May 1st; buy one Mexican Flag or Enchiladas Banderas and get the second for $5 on Thursday, May 3rd; and buy one order of Juan’s Wings and Tenders, and get a second for $5 on Wednesday, May 2nd.
6Moe’s Southwest Grill
The details on Cinco de Moe’s are still unclear, although it’s definitely happening. If you’re already planning a Cinco de Mayo party, you can order for 20 or more people by May 1st and each guest will get a $5 digital Moe Buck. The restaurant is offering Cinco de Moe’s T-shirts to customers while supplies last.
7On the Border
Another spot for cheap margaritas is On the Border. The restaurant is offering $5 margaritas on May 5th, and you can also get a discount on an On the Border gift card.
Taco Cabana is offering $3 margaritas, $4 frozen vodka raspberry lemonades, $9.99 dozen flauta boxes, and more from May 4th through May 6th.
9Hard Rock Cafe
If you’ll be in New York for Cinco de Mayo, Hard Rock Cafe New York is offering a limited-time special on a new margarita. From May 1st through the 6th, you can get a Rockin’ Fresh Rita by saying the word “Rockin'” with your waiter or bartender.
