Chrissy Teigen live-tweeted the Grammys from home, and she clearly had the best night ever
We can’t help but love when John Legend and Chrissy Teigen attend awards shows together. They always look gorgeous on the red carpet and provide plenty of humorous interview fodder. But the couple decided to skip the 2019 Grammys. And while we certainly missed seeing them in action at the show, Teigen live-tweeted it all night long, remaining hilariously true to form, as always.
The mother of two began the night by sharing a photo of her husband sound asleep. Legend is the first black man to become an EGOT, and Teigen reminded us that even EGOTs need a night off sometimes, writing, “no Grammys for us today. John got and [sic] EGOT and egot lazy.”
Next, she shared a “not-going-to-the-Grammys makeup tutorial” with her followers in her Instagram Story.
Teigen went through her makeup routine, clad in a towel, sharing that she’d had “4 wines” before the start of the show.
Then, when a follower asked which designer made her towel (LOL), she shared that she got it from—where else?—Bed Bath & Beyond.
Once the Grammys began, Teigen’s tweets really took off.
It seemed that the cookbook author was having major FOMO, praising performances by Camila Cabello, Miley Cyrus, and Cardi B. She shared hilarious videos from her home viewing party, calling actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson a “babysitter extraordinaire” to sweet baby Miles.
Twitter even provided a cake for her Grammy night festivities.
While it certainly looked like the group was having a blast, Teigen tweeted, “John gotta take my phone,” before proceeding to tweet more videos from their shindig.
Comedian Neal Brennan was there, too, of course.
Later, Jesse Tyler Ferguson enjoyed a…toilet lollipop? Yes, really.
OH, and Jameela Jamil was there. NBD.
This tweet just about sums up the night:
Here’s hoping Chrissy had just as much fun as we did during her Twitter spree. And tbh, her live tweets about the Grammys more than made up for the couple’s absence at the actual show.
