Nearly 12 years ago, both Chrissy Teigen and Meghan Markle appeared on the NBC game show Deal or No Deal. Remember that? It was hosted by Howie Mandel and featured models with briefcases full of money? Back in the 2006-2007 era, both Teigen and Markle appeared as “briefcase models” on the show. This was long before Teigen was a household name, and way before Markle got engaged to Prince Harry, but the two overlapped and spent some time together on the show.

This week Teigen appeared on The Ellen Show, and Ellen DeGeneres asked whether or not she knew Markle from their brief stint on the game show together. Teigen said yes, and immediately chimed in to say that had she known Deal or No Deal models could go on to join the royal family, she would have done things differently. She joked, “That could be me, I could be Princess Harry, or no, what is it?” DeGeneres laughed and clarified, “That’s not how that works.”

Teigen elaborated about her time on the show in an interview with Andy Cohen last month, in which she revealed that she did indeed know a pre-royal Markle.

“I think she came in the second season or something,” Teigen recalled to Cohen. “I did it from pilot season to first season, and then I got demoted because I couldn’t walk down the stairs. I got fired or something.”

Sadly, it is nearly impossible to track down a photo of Teigen when she was on the show.

You can watch Teigen talk about ~almost~ marrying into royalty in the interview above.
