Watch out—it’s looking like Grammy-nominated artist Cardi B may have a career as a political activist ahead of her. The Des Moines Register reports that the Polk County Democrats are attempting to recruit the rapper to speak at an event when she visits Iowa in May on her Invasion of Privacy tour. Sean Bagniewski, chair of the Polk County Democrats, told the newspaper that the group is “definitely serious” about the invitation. He added that the organization is trying to contact her social media teams, as well as other industry insiders. The political organization first extended the offer in a January 29th tweet—tagging the rapper with the hope that she sees it.

Bagniewski told the Register that he believes Cardi could connect with young Democrats in particular.

Cardi seems to be thinking it over. On Twitter, she asked her fans to weigh in, wondering “Should I?”

As it turns out, Cardi’s fans are here for her political future.

This isn’t the first time Cardi has been invited to engage in politics. On January 23rd, Stephen Colbert tweeted that he was starting a “petition” to get the rapper to deliver the Democrats’ rebuttal to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union Address.

Cardi’s response? “Why not.”

We’re so ready to hear what Cardi has to say—because nothing but respect for our president.
