Britney Spears canceled her Las Vegas residency due to a family medical issue, and we hope everything's okay
Back in October, pop legend Britney Spears shared that she’d be beginning a new Las Vegas residency at the Park MGM resort starting in February 2019. Unfortunately, due to family medical issues, Spears has now canceled her Domination show for the time being. Spears shared the news in a series of tweets today, January 4th, explaining that the decision wasn’t easy.
The “Toxic” singer went on to write that she nearly lost her father several months ago, and that he is still recovering from his hospitalization. She tweeted that in light of his condition, she’s decided to take time off to be with her family.
Spears also shared a link to a press release on her website, which clarified that she would be on an “indefinite work hiatus” until further notice. In the release, she also issued an official statement on her decision:
According to Spears’ website, if you have Domination tickets, refunds will be available wherever you bought your tickets. If you have other questions, you can contact Ticketmaster customer service at 1-800-745-3000.
We’re sending all our love to Spears and her family, and we hope her father makes a speedy recovery.
