Blink-182 is getting a Las Vegas residency, fulfilling your teen pop-punk dreams
Next time you’re in Las Vegas, and you take your friends out on a Friday night, and you wear cologne to get the feeling right, you can actually see Blink-182 live in concert. Yes, Blink-182 landed a Las Vegas residency, so your teen pop-punk dreams are officially coming true.
Of course, Blink-182 signing on for a Las Vegas residency is enough to make anyone ask “What’s my age again?” but it’s really not *that* crazy.
Traditionally, Las Vegas residency acts tend to be high-profile pop acts like Britney Spears, big-name crooners like Celine Dion, or events like Cirque du Soleil’s Love. It’s extremely cool that Blink-182 is getting one. Plus, it’s coming up fast!
The Blink-182 Las Vegas residency launches in May 2018. The group — Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker, with Matt Skiba filling in for Tom DeLonge — will play 16 shows (at least) at the Palms Casino, spanning from May 26th and November 17th, 2018. It’s called the “Kings of The Weekend” residency.
Here’s what Blink-182 bassist (and incredible tweeter) Hoppus said in a statement:
Wait, they’re willing to marry someone onstage during a show!? Um, where do we sign up?
The band has already launched a new website where you can purchase tickets, and you’ll want to get on that ASAP
- May 26-27th
- June 8-9th, 15-16th, 23rd-24th
- October 26-27th
- November 2nd-3rd, 9-10th, 16-17th
Who knows! If you’re lucky, maybe they’ll be willing to extend the residency past this initial list of dates. And we’d be into that surprise because, you know, it lets us know they care.
