Anyone else feel like January lasted a LONG time? Maybe it’s because we started and ended the month with a full moon, the second being a lunar eclipse as well. In cosmic terms? That’s a whole lot of energy. And this energy is permeating into February for what’s called a Black Moon.

This month, we won’t have a full moon, something that hasn’t happened since 1999.

“Black Moon” is actually an umbrella term for what can happen in a month. It’s the name of the third new moon in a season of four new moons, when there are two new moons in the same month, or when there isn’t a full or new moon in February.

In our case, February doesn’t have a full moon, so of course we’re curious about what this means astrologically. That’s why we spoke to Astrologer extraordinaire and horoscope queen for Coveteur, Amelia Quint, about how we can work with this energy. She explained,

So instead of focusing on what you should be doing, focus on what it is you’re trying to manifest. If a new moon is also a dark moon, then black moons hold the same sort of energy. And remember: if the energy around this time feels a little bit out of whack, you can still take care of yourself. Take a salt bath, drink some water, plan your next move, and know that the cosmos are always supporting you on your mission.
