Just this week, Ariana Grande revealed that her signature ponytail is actually quite painful. Even though she said she’s in “constant pain always, and don’t care at all,” it’s easy to see why she switched up her hairstyle for her latest music video, “Breathin.” The pop star rocked a sophisticated low ponytail, and we’re hoping this becomes her new ‘do.

“Breathin” is Ariana’s latest single to get its own video from her Sweetener album, and it seems like the singer is loving the low pony look. In her Sweetener album cover, she opted for a low pony, too. The only difference? Her hair was platinum blonde and she had it slicked back. Grande even rocked a similar hairstyle for her “God is a Woman” music video, where she kept her pony low and wavy.

Here us out: Ariana’s loose bangs and effortless pony reminds us of Meghan’s hairstyle when she was touring Australia. The Duchess of Sussex ditched her messy bun for low pony. While the comparison might seem like a stretch, one thing is for sure—the low pony is having a major moment.

Let’s take a closer look at Ariana’s hairstyle in the music video.

At first glance, it looked like Ariana’s hair is in a loose low bun.

But once the camera pans over, we see that she is actually rocking a low ponytail.

To make the ponytail more chic, part of her hair is wrapped around the pony. This little trick hides the elastic band.

The loose bang, beachy waves, and side part give the hairstyle an effortless feel.

Like we said, this isn’t the first time Ariana has opted for a low pony: In fact, as recent as August 23rd, the pop star wore this ‘do. But instead of pulling out her grown-out bangs like in her “Breathin” music video, she kept her hair slicked back (with the exception of her baby hairs around her ears).

In that same month, she styled her low pony with a ’90s-esque hair clip. She captioned her photo, “big dick energy with a pinch of ‘i’m jenna rink, big time magazine editor’ energy.”

You can watch the full video below to see her hairstyle in action.

While Ariana also wore a high half-up pony with loose waves in the vid, the low pony is what caught our eye.

To her high pony, we say, “thank u, next.” We’re ready for Ariana’s low pony to have its own moment.
