Anne Hathaway explained why she won't drink while raising her son, and we get it
The decision to drink (or not drink) is an extremely personal choice. So when Anne Hathaway recently shared her reasons for going sober, we listened. The actress first announced that she was no longer drinking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in January. At the time, she said that she plans to avoid alcohol until her son (who is three years old) turns 18, a decision she reached after a couple of bad hangovers. In the April 16th cover story for Boston Common magazine, Hathaway further explained her decision to abstain from drinking.
The star of The Hustle also made it clear that her sobriety was a personal choice—one that she stressed others should be able to make for themselves.
We 100% respect Hathaway’s decision to do what’s best for her in her life, and we appreciate her being so open about a decision that can—for better or worse—spark a lot of critics and naysayers. You do you, lady.
