Anna Kendrick & Co. are (almost) BACK, pitches! Pitch Perfect 2 hits theaters May 15th, and the movie is being crazy promoted with trailers and posters, and we just absolutely cannot wait to see it! One of the many reasons we love the Pitch Perfect franchise so fiercely, is because it emphasizes girl power and friendship above all else. So when Anna Kendrick was asked to pose more seductively for the newest promotional poster, it only made sense that she refused, crossing her arms instead. The pose she struck is not only a serious boss lady power stance, it’s also true to Beca Mitchell (her rad character).

According to Cosmopolitan, the studio involved with the photoshoot wasn’t super happy with Anna for doing it her way. And her powerful, I-don’t-care-what-you-think-not-at-all stance hasn’t gone unnoticed. Pitch Perfect fans from around the world are now taking pictures of themselves posing in front of the poster in Anna solidarity, creating one of the coolest movements on social media: the #BossPitch movement.

When Anna noticed what fans were doing in her honor, she posted a collage on her Insta account, with the caption: “They were sweating because I wouldn’t strike a sexy pose. Love that you guys embrace Beca the badass.”

The pics kept coming in, so Anna kept collaging and posting them all with the hashtag #BecaEffinMitchell.

The bigger message here, is that Anna Kenrick refused to abandon her character’s integrity. She challenged the “sex sells” ideology that is so very much prevalent in media and Hollywood and went with something more empowering and true to herself. Once again, Anna proves to us that she’s a total powerhouse, and a seriously amazing force to be reckoned with. Oh yeah, and just straight up dope.
