If you’re an avid Instagram user, you’re definitely going to want to hear this news about the latest features rolling out on the app. The way your bio looks is about to change, but don’t worry — it’s not a bad thing. The app is now going to allow users to add live hashtags and profile links to their Instagram bio, and we’ve got the details on exactly how to do it.

You’ve always been able to add hashtags and other user names to your bio — like, if you wrote, “I love the #beach!” But you’ve likely noticed that those hashtags don’t go anywhere. They aren’t a clickable link, so basically there was never any point in including them. Same with profile names. You can add them — like “love my bae @jboothyy” — but again, they don’t go anywhere and aren’t clickable. But live hashtags and profile links are finally here.

Now, when you add hashtags and profile links to your bio, they act as a live link.

Why is this cool? It’s mainly because it makes your Instagram bio a little more interactive and fun, giving you a new way to express yourself. This is a way to get your profile noticed by connecting it with other hashtags and communities on the app. It also allows for more opportunities in terms of professional networking, too.

So how can you get this in your profile? It could not be more simple. Tap on Edit Profile and go to the bio section. When you start to type a # or @, a list of recommended hashtags and accounts will appear. You select the ones you want and then they’re in your profile.

This is a simple change, but it’s a fun one — and we’re always down for anything that makes Instagram even more interactive. After all, isn’t that why we all use it?
