Ready for some news about the 2018 iPhone? According to reports, the new iPhones could come in more colors than the standard selection we Apple users have become accustomed to, so get ready to start shopping for a clear case ASAP if the rumors turn out to be true.
Apple enthusiast blog 9to5Mac released a report from popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo on Thursday, July 5th, sharing a few details he’s heard about what we can expect from the new iPhones, due out later this year. A 6.5-inch OLED iPhone, as well as a 6.1-inch X-style iPhone may be coming our way — but that’s not even the best part.
According to Kuo, the new 2018 iPhones will come in the usual space gray and silver plus new colors, including blue, red, and orange, as well as a gold color for upper-level iPhones.
Remember when we thought the rose gold iPhone was a big deal? (TBH, it still kind of is, because who isn’t obsessed with rose gold right now?)
We’ve seen colorful iPhones in the past, but the 5C model didn’t exactly stand the test of time (RIP). But using fun colors for the iPhone models we love most? Could be a genius move by Apple.
Of course, these are just rumors at this point, so there aren’t any images of what the phones will look like. However, tech blogs have mocked up what they think we can expect, and these gadgets are beautiful.
Details about new phones often come out in late summer or early fall, so it won’t be long before we have confirmation on this — and hopefully more information, like a date for when the 2018 iPhones go on sale. We are dying to find out what Apple has in store for us next, because let’s be honest: If those engineers can create portrait mode for selfies, what can’t they do?
In the meantime, just to be safe, you should start keeping an eye out for clear cases. It would be a shame to cover up those pretty colors with an opaque case, wouldn’t it?
