Here’s everything to know about this year’s show.
The AMAs are the most democratic of the major music awards shows, with the winner in every category chosen by fans. This year’s show will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. ET on October 9th. You’ll be able to tune in on ABC or stream the show live on abc.go.com if you have cable. You can also sign up to stream ABC through DirectTV Now, Hulu with Live TV, PlayStation Vue, or YouTube TV.
Who will be performing/hosting?
According to Billboard, Taylor Swift will open the 2018 AMAs with a performance of “I Did Something Bad” from her 2017 album Reputation (and it will also be her first awards show performance in three years). Other performers include Panic! at the Disco, Benny Blanco, Halsey, Khalid, Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, Post Malone featuring Ty Dolla Sign, Carrie Underwood, Dua Lipa, and Cardi B, who will be singing “I Like It” with Bad Bunny and J Balvin.
Black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross will be hosting.
So, who’s nominated?
Drake and Cardi B lead the nominations with eight each, while Ed Sheeran and Post Malone are tied for second with six nominations a piece. Camila Cabello is also up for her first solo awards, with a total of five nominations.
