You can celebrate New Year’s Eve at Olive Garden this year, but it will cost you

New Year’s Eve is possibly one of the biggest celebrations in the world. It’s the one holiday we all have in common, so it makes sense that every year, people want their celebrations to be bigger and better. If you have the cash to spare, you could spend the evening of December 31st smack in the middle of it all: New York City’s Time Square. This year, people aren’t interested in the crowds outside as they count down the seconds to the ball drop, and are instead taking their celebration indoors to one of the many surrounding restaurants. One such restaurant? Olive Garden.

The New York Post reports that for $400 you can have full access to a buffet, a DJ, and an open bar, all courtesy of the pasta and breadsticks chain. However, breadsticks are not on offer at this particular evening’s celebrations.

Surprisingly, this isn’t even the most expensive Times Square offer. For a better view of the ball drop (Olive Garden admits that their’s is somewhat subpar) you could shell out $799 for Bubba Gump Shrimp, which is one of the most expensive of the surrounding options. However, places like Ruby Tuesday are charging up to $1,699 for a night at the restaurant, depending on what package you choose.

These are high prices, especially for what seems to be for a more laid-back version of the crazy night. Plus, who wants to start 2016 without breadsticks?
