All the ways the new ‘Walking Dead’ trailer is making us nervous

There’s a brand new trailer for AMC’s The Walking Dead, and at one point in it, our guy Rick Grimes asks, “Do you have any idea who you’re talking to?” Uh, yes, we’re listening to whatever you have to say, Rick, because you’ve got our full attention, and it also looks like you’re going a little stir-crazy in Alexandria. But that can only be expected when you’re butting heads with Morgan, along with trying to fight off walkers and Wolves (you know, the dudes with the ‘W’s etched into their foreheads).

The cast of The Walking Dead is currently hanging out at Comic-Con in San Diego, and pulled out this extended four minute trailer for the upcoming 6th season. The action picks up immediately where we left off at the end of Season 5 and things quickly go from bad, to worse (per usual).

In Rick’s attempt to make Alexandria “safer,” it looks like everyone starts turning on him because he’s a “dangerous” man (duh). That’s where Morgan comes in, and he thinks he can “stop” Rick from going what appears to be full on Rogue Rick. But do you really want to stop Rick when he’s so good at taking out walkers?

At Comic-Con, showrunner Scott Gimple teased that we might not want to freak out too much just yet. “We sometimes play with the truth in trailers,” Gimple said, “Rick is absolutely faced with challenges with [the] way he does things. …[But] things may not be what they seem.” That doesn’t make us feel a whole lot better, but we’ll keep that in mind as we play this trailer on repeat.

And Rick’s not the only one we see in the new trailer, of course. Along with Daryl, Glenn, Maggie, Carl, and Michonne, we also get lots and lots of walkers. Plus, a ton of blood. So much blood. Might be a safe bet that this will be Walking Dead‘s bloodiest season yet. And at Comic-Con the makeup team even said that they’re looking to really push the envelope on zombie decomposition. Soooo we’ve got that to look forward to! Hooray!

And while Rick’s leadership is being judged and zombies are being set on fire and sliced into pieces, it looks like Daryl finds himself in a pretty not-OK situation —from what we can see, Daryl is captured by the Wolves. Oh, the stress.

The Walking Dead doesn’t return until October 11th, so we have a few months to prepare our hearts for what is to come.  Check out the brand new trailer below!
