This new study says bisexual men are the best lovers, and it has us hmmm-ing
We’re all about bizarre science and interesting studies, so when we heard about this particular study, we were like, Whaaaaat? According to Queerty, research from Dr. Maria Pallotta-Chiarolli concludes that the best partners are, actually, bisexual men.
Yep—the research says bi men are the best lovers… according to straight women.
The research, which is set to be published in Dr. Maria Pallotta-Chiarolli’s forthcoming book, Women In Relationships with Bisexual Men – Bi Men By Women, has us engaging in a wee bit of side eye. A part of the Deakin School of Health and Social Development in Australia, Dr. Maria Pallotta-Chiarolli surveyed 78 women, ranging from ages 16 to 65 years, and came to the conclusion that, contrary to stereotypes, bisexual men are the best lovers as ranked by heterosexual women.
“These mixed-orientation relationships, or what I call MOREs, sit outside the boundaries of what many may consider a ‘normal’ relationship, whether it’s straight or gay,” Pallotta-Chiarolli said. “What the research has shown is that they are very real and valid and deserve our attention, support and understanding.”
This is super interesting, especially considering that bi men aren’t often talked about in the most positive light. Biphobia is real, and while bi women are hypersexualized in really harmful ways, bi men are completely ignored.
She’s hopeful that the research will combat negative stereotypes surrounding bisexual men.
“It is my hope that we can stop presenting only the stereotypical story about MOREs: that all bisexual men are untrustworthy and have secret affairs; that all bisexual men transmit HIV and STI to women; that all bisexual men are abusive to their women partners,” Pallotta-Charolli said. “While we found these issues are certainly out there and we don’t shy away from discussing them, we need to lift the stigma for the women who choose to be in relationships with bisexual men.”
