Amy Sherman-Palladino just got a new show that’s going to be required viewing for “Gilmore Girls” fans

Gilmore Girls fans had better stock up on your coffee because you’ve got a lot of exciting TV coming your way. Aside from the much anticipated (and so exciting!) revival that will be coming soon to Netflix, the show’s creator just got great news for everyone who loves her style.

According to an article in Deadline, Amy Sherman-Palladino’s new show The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has been picked up by Amazon. The show centers around a housewife in the 1950s who tries her hand at stand-up comedy. So it’ll have a strong and interesting female protagonist, an inherently hilarious premise, and witty dialogue to forward the two. Basically, it sounds like it’s everything we could have hoped from her and more.

Just the thought of it coming out on the heels of the Gilmore Girls reunion is pretty overwhelming (in the best way).

Sherman-Palladino is a seasoned creator, with both The Return of Jezebel James and Bunheads under her belt. But since both of those (for different reason) are no long airing, it’s nice to get the opportunity to see her work again in a new setting.

Just based on the longevity and popularity of Gilmore Girls alone (not to mention the public support for bringing it back), there’s no doubt this woman is extremely talented and creates characters that are absolutely magical to watch. We can’t wait to meet Mrs. Maisel and have absolutely no doubt that she’ll be truly as marvelous as promised.
