Rumor has it, here’s the day you can get the new iPhone

Totally ready for an iPhone upgrade? Well, you might not have to wait much longer.

Apple hasn’t officially announced anything just yet, but it traditionally releases a new version of the iPhone every September, which means we could see an update to the iPhone 6 in just a few short weeks.

According to Buzzfeed, who talked to sources familiar with Apple’s plans, the company will show off a new version of the phone at an event on September 9th, the same day it held the iPhone 6 and Apple Watch event last year.

The next-generation of the phone will likely be a 6S (not an iPhone 7) and is expected to be faster, have an improved camera, and a new pressure-sensitive Force Touch display —comparable to what it’s using on the Apple Watch already. Those faster speeds are thanks to a new Qualcomm processor. Get this: it could actually double the data speeds on your iPhone 6. The more efficient processor could also lead to longer battery life, which we all definitely need.

Other announcements on the horizon: Apple may use the event to show off new versions of the iPad, and a new version of the Apple TV might finally be headed our way.

Right now everything is still in rumor territory. We’ll keep you posted when things start getting official!
