A “Guardians of the Galaxy” character is joining “Avengers: Infinity War” because it’s going to have ALL the superheroes

Try to name all the superheroes you can off the top of your head, and you probably still won’t even come close to the number in the upcoming Avengers movie. That was true before we even knew that another Guardians of the Galaxy character might be in it. We already knew there was going to be an insane amount of heroes in Avengers: Infinity War, but frankly, it’s starting to get overwhelming.

The upcoming film features a plethora of Avengers, Guardians, and bad guys. One of those good guys is (maybe) an alien newcomer we’re excited to meet.

The character, Mantis, is joining the MCU this summer in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. She’s an alien, and an empath — meaning she can feel the emotions of others. We saw a (hilarious) glimpse of her in the second Guardians teaser:

Mantis calls out Peter Quill’s not-so-chaste love for Gamora, and it’s magic. Now, Pom Klementieff, the actress who plays Mantis, has bestowed some magical news upon fans. She recently shared a photo on her Facebook page which hints at an Infinity War casting.

Obviously, it’s not a solid confirmation. Still, we can’t imagine why Klementieff would be wearing that hat if Mantis isn’t among the intergalactic team fighting Thanos (Though if she’s not in the cast, maybe it means we can get ahold of one of those hats too, because WANT).

Sean Gunn, a fellow Guardians cast member, is also in Infinity War. He recently shared a photo of himself in what appears to be the same hat. So, evidence that Mantis will be in the upcoming Avengers film is certainly mounting.

Even if Mantis is in Avengers: Infinity War, we can’t help but think her role will be pretty small. After all, there are SO MANY CHARACTERS already. Though, who knows — we’ve got a long way until Infinity War comes out, so we’re prepared for surprises.
