The new “Girl on the Train” trailer is here, and it will haunt you forever

Do you adore page-turning psychological thrillers? How about book-to-film adaptations of your fave thrillers with all-star ensemble casts? Well, then, you’re in luck — the newest super-spooky (yet also kinda sexy) trailer for The Girl on the Train (starring Emily Blunt) has finally arrived.
The Girl on the Train is an adaptation of the #1 bestseller of the same name, by British author Paula Hawkins. Main character Rachel is a depressed, alcoholic woman who becomes obsessed with watching (and imagining the lives of) the beautiful, perfect-looking couple in the house she passes by every day as she rides the train.
Seems weird but rather harmless, right? Wrong. As it turns out, Rachel is a deeply unreliable narrator (due to her alcoholism and various other factors that are soon enough revealed) and the mystery only builds as she becomes entrenched in the lives of the couple — once the woman, Megan (Haley Bennett) goes missing. Add in Rachel’s ex-husband (Justin Theroux) and his new wife (Rebecca Ferguson), and things are about to get seriously messy.
Things are definitely tense between Tom and Rachel when he asks his ex why she’s around in the trailer: “Because, I’m helping find Megan,” Rachel says. “I don’t think you’re helping anybody,” Tom replies. It even seems as though Rachel herself might be a suspect in Megan’s disappearance.
Just looking at the cast list for this movie had me excited for it before I even saw a second of footage — in addition to those actors listed above, the film also stars Luke Evans, Laura Prepon, Edgar Ramirez, Allison Janney, and Lisa Kudrow. But this newest trailer, paired with a haunting version of Kanye West’s “Heartless,” has my anticipation at an all-time high. Check out the steamy trailer below and get hyped for the movie’s release on October 7th. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=
