Are there any new Girl Scout cookie flavors? Here’s the scoop
Even if you were never actually in the Girl Scouts, you’ve probably got an ongoing hankering for their cookies. Samoas, Thin Mints, Trefoils…you’ve tried (and loved) them all. And while returning favorites are great, you’re probably wondering if there are any new Girl Scout cookie flavors for 2018.
Well, we have good news and bad news. The bad? There aren’t any brand new Girl Scout cookie varieties for 2018. But on the bright side, the s’mores flavors introduced in 2017 are back for a second time, per the Girl Scouts website, in addition to other beloved cookies like Shortbreads and Thin Mints. Better yet, you can order Girl Scout cookies online. This is the modern age we’re living in, folks!
Both varieties are called S’mores, but they differ slightly.
One is a chocolate-covered graham cracker, while the other features two graham crackers encasing a layer of chocolate and marshmallow filling. These different stylings are considered “a nod to the different ways people ‘s’more,’” according to a press release.
The two flavors are once again produced by different bakeries, so you probably can’t buy both at the same time. That’s a bit of a bummer, but let’s be real — everyone has a clear s’more preference.
"While the tradition of making and enjoying s’mores in the outdoors was popularized by Girl Scouts as early as the 1920s, our s’mores cookies are also an important reminder of how necessary it is to support programs for girls to explore the outdoors, said Girl Scout USA CEO Sylvia Acevedo in the press release.
As if you needed a reason to devour an entire box in one sitting.
on one hand eating an entire sleeve of girl scout cookies for lunch is probably unhealthy, but on the other hand, you gotta support the troops
