‘New Girl’ just got renewed for a fifth season! YAASSS!
It’s time to squeal a little and throw your hands in the air (like you just don’t care) because New Girl just got officially renewed for another season!
That’s right, Jess Day (played by HelloGiggles co-founder Zooey Deschanel) and company are returning for a fifth season, and we’re feeling all kinds of happy emotions.
“Boom! Season five is officially happening,” tweeted Hannah Simone. “Thank you, thank you, thank you for watching,” added series creator Liz Meriwether. (Hey, it’s really our pleasure.)
And then there was this tweet of joy:
This renewal business means you’ll be seeing a LOT more of Jess, her BFF CeCe, her ridiculously wonderful roommates, and maybe some very special guests. According to TVLine, John Cho from Selfie, and Taran Killam from SNL, will make appearances on this new season! Yes, please.
We may be bias, but we feel strongly about the glory of New Girl. The show has been consistently funny, demonstrated the perfect amount of tension, and gained a lot of momentum these last few years. FOX entertainment president David Madden obviously agrees with us.
“Four seasons in, New Girl continues to be one of the smartest and most relatable comedies on television,” he said in a statement to Deadline. “The writing is razor-sharp, the ensemble is consistently hilarious, and we couldn’t be more proud of. . . the entire New Girl team. We absolutely love this show and we’re so excited to bring it back for Season Five.”
We’re crazy proud of our fearless leader Zooey and the super talented team she works with. We know it’s going to be another INCREDIBLE season, and we’re so ready for it.
