The cast of New Girl can’t stop posting behind-the-scenes pictures, and they’re making us weepy
Hey, giiiiirl…the time has come. After 146 episodes and seven wonderful years at the loft, New Girl is finally bidding farewell. We can’t stop lamenting the fact that tonight will be the last time we’ll see Jess, Nick, Schmidt, Cece, and Winston together, and it feels like the FRIENDS finale all over again. Apparently, the cast feels the same way. It’s comforting to know that the Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, Hannah Simone, and Lamorne Morris are crying right along with us and are having a hard time parting ways with the show we all loved so much.
On Instagram, the cast can’t stop posting picture after picture of behind-the-scenes snaps, as a way of thanking and expressing their undying love for each other, the hardworking New Girl crew, and of course, the fans. We’re certainly not complaining, but we can’t help but weep every time their posts pop up on our feeds.
First up, we have Deschanel, who posted this heartwarming photo of the Loft Squad and saying that their tight-knit friendship is what reminded her of why she loves acting. *sobs*
Then we have Johnson posting a Jess and Nick table read photo, saying that he really cared for their tandem, and so did Prince (yes, remember that Prince cameo? ICONIC).
But then he also posted a photo of the real #1 couple on the show, NICK AND SCHMIDT. In case you didn’t know, the two are also BFFs IRL, which makes this whole situation even sadder.
And then we have Morris, who posted a photo of him beside a “camera shy Jake”, which is most likely a code for “crying Jake.” Where’s the Ferguson tribute, buddy?!
Meanwhile, Greenfield posted this photo of the cast along with the geniuses behind the series because without them, we wouldn’t have this amazing show in the first place.
And for the ultimate tearjerker, Simone posted a snippet of the behind-the-scenes footage from the last ever New Girl table read. Prepare yourself for one giant sobfest.
Thank you, New Girl, for the seven years of laughs, friendship lessons, relationship advice, and introducing us to the best drinking game of all time, True American. You will sorely be missed.
Start stocking up on tissues, people. The back-to-back New Girl series finale airs tonight at 9 P.M. on Fox.
